Barry, Owner
In 1983, Barry Sawatsky opened the doors to Bear’s Repair with a straightforward commitment: to provide top-tier mechanical expertise alongside the friendly, honest service of a hometown garage.
For more than three decades, Barry built a strong reputation throughout Winnipeg for integrity, quality craftsmanship, and dependable service. In 2014, his son, Karl, joined him full-time at the shop. Together, they combined Barry’s more than 40 years of mechanical experience with Karl’s expertise in modern automotive electrical systems and diagnostics.
This father-and-son team has built a garage that respects traditional service values while embracing the increasingly complex technology found in today’s vehicles.
As Bear’s Repair’s community of loyal Winnipeg customers has continued to grow, so has the team. Today, the shop includes a third skilled technician who shares the family’s commitment to quality workmanship, exceptional service, and personal customer care. The expanded team allows Bear’s Repair to provide prompt, professional automotive service without compromising the personal touch that has defined the business from the beginning.
